z Judy Niemeyer Paradise in Bloom 2015 Technique of the Month
Judy Niemeyer Technique of the month classes are meant to teach you all of her techniques in one class so that you could then confidently do any of her quilts on your own. There is a lot to cover and that is why the TOM quilts can only be taught by Certified shops like quiltfabric.com.
We will meet 7 times. The first time will be all day from 9:30 until 3:30 and if you absolutely cannot get your fabric in advance, you can do it that day. There will be some preparation ahead of time, but do NOT cut your fabric ahead unless you have already taken a Judy Niemeyer class. You will probably waste a lot of time and be sorry later when you see the techniques. Also, don't read the pattern ahead. Just pick your fabrics and know which one you want to go where.
This quilt class is not cheap. It takes a lot of fabric and time commitment but you will have a masterpiece when you are finished. We all need a challenge once in a while, right? It is very doable when it is broken down step by step, and that's what I (Chris) am here for.
The pattern comes in a regular size, and then there is a queen extension which makes it bigger. You can see that in the difference between the first and second photo, and then in the third which is a line drawing.
The patterns will not actually be in the shop until around New Years, but we should have the info to be able to help you pick fabric after Thanksgiving. Allow a couple hours and a lot of patience with yourself. Joyce is here to help on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
